We have an extensive collection of books - over 250, providing information for every type of gardener. There are books on growing vegetables, perennials, bulbs, roses, wintering flowering plants to name a few. We also have information on garden design, dealing with pests and making compost. Over the years many of our books have been donated and gratefully received. Each year new books are purchased to keep the collection as up to date as possible. Many thanks go out to our club's Master Gardeners for their recommendations.
Our Library is open during our club meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Books may be signed out and must be returned at the following meeting so that other members may have the opportunity to borrow them. Older books may be signed out again, but new books can only be borrowed on a monthly basis as they are in high demand.
Our past newsletters go back to 2017. Did you miss an issue? If so, this is the place to find it.
Our esteemed Master Gardener Barb Kohlman has put together a list of activities that should be done each month throughout the year.
Fran Benton, one of our Master Gardeners, has published entertaining artcles on all aspects of gardening in the South Cowichan life magazine as well as in our newsletters. Here is a collection well worth reading.
