Our Speaker:  Janice Currie on The Atacama Desert in Bloom

Janice Currie is an avid plant grower and collector, gardener, and

traveller. Her garden and greenhouses in Victoria, B.C. showcase the

many plants she has seen in nature around the world. One of the

favorite places she has botanized is the Atacama Desert in Chile.

Although it is occurring more often than it used to be the phenomenon

of rain, for a brief period, in the desert produces an incredible display

of blooming cactus, bulbs, annuals and flower laden vines. Janice

would like to share her experience in this beautiful part of South

America.
